You may be at threat of redundancy or have recently been made redundant, or are just looking to move into new employment. We understand this can be a daunting time for our Unite members, the Learnwithunite team have worked for years, and continue to do so, in supporting our members through this period.
We work with a number of professional organisations to support you whether that is in finding new employment, looking to set up your own business or maybe you are considering retirement. We now have a series of workshops which are in a virtual meeting room being presented, giving you the opportunity to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the different subjects.
With an easy online booking system, your place will be confirmed back to you and a link to attend will be sent a few days before the workshop.
These 90 minute sessions are put on as a starting point for Unite members at threat of redundancy or recently made redundant. In collaboration with the National Careers Service (NCS) and Department of Work and Pensions (DWP), these are an information workshop to give you an overview of each organisations service, including:-

Referral to access government funding for training and skills (Time bound)

Did you know many employers use computers (BOTS) to review CVs? Ensure your CV gets through the computer sifting process (ATS) to be reviewed by a human being. Identify skills & experiences to fit the job you want. Best suited to customers would like to improve or tailor an existing CV.
This 90 minute session will teach you that an important tool to get you to interview is a winning CV and cover letter. This workshop is run by the National Careers Service and is to provide you with:
To gain confidence to build, update and tailor their own CV for specific job roles
To be able to identify and promote your own skills and experiences in order to apply for jobs

The NHS is the UK’s largest employer in the UK and 5th largest in the world. Staff are always being recruited in a variety of roles not just medical. The NHS employs chefs, administrators, cleaners, security, drivers, porters, telephonists, and plumbers for example. This workshop will provide support and advice on the NHS application process.
